WHAT ARE INVISALIGN BRACES?
Invisalign braces are a set of computer generated clear and removable aligners that gradually move teeth to straighten them. They are made of clear, non-toxic plastic, and fit perfectly over your teeth, making then virtually undetectable.
WHAT TYPES OF CASES CAN INVISALIGN TREAT?
It can be used in the majority of situations. However, it is the specialist orthodontist’s job to recommend the most suitable treatment for your circumstances that you will benefit from. Experienced practitioners, like our Smile Genies, have confidence in treating a variety of complex cases using Invisalign, unlike a dentist without the breadth of experience.
WHO CAN PROVIDE INVISALIGN TREATMENT?
General Dentists and Orthodontists can both provide Invisalign. However, the level of experience in using Invisalign varies between them. It should be noted that successful treatment relies quite heavily on the training and experience of the provider.
IS SMYLI A REGISTERED SPECIALIST ORTHODONTIC CLINIC?
Yes! Our specialists have completed their further study, achieving Master’s degrees in Orthodontics. Specialist clinics like ours with an Invisalign focus, complete 50-200 complex cases per year. If you would like to increase the probability that a case like yours has been seen and treated before, choose the orthodontist with the clinical experience.
HOW MUCH DO INVISALIGN BRACES COST?
Treatment costs can begin at around £1500 based on your need. Payment plans are available to help fund your new smile.
IS INVISALIGN TREATMENT PAINFUL?
Like most people, you may experience some minor discomfort, temporarily for the first few days of each new stage of treatment. This is a normal adjustment period. Some have described the feeling as pressure rather than pain. However, this is a good indication that something is happening and your aligners are getting to work on moving your teeth gently. The discomfort does not last more than a couple of days, Over-the-counter painkillers such as Paracetamol are suitable to relieve any discomfort as you find necessary.
WILL WEARING THE ALIGNERS AFFECT MY SPEECH?
All orthodontic treatments can temporarily affect your speech as there is something new in your mouth. However, as with discomfort, any slight lisping will last a day or two whilst you get used to your new appliance, and any minor speech impediment should disappear in a couple of days.
HOW OFTEN MUST I WEAR THE ALIGNERS?
For the quickest treatment and optimum results, aligners must be worn all day. They should only be removed for eating, brushing, flossing and cleaning.
